Is Juneau a Livable Community?

AARP Alaska is pleased to host a conversation about livable communities in Juneau with special guest Don Kostelec, active transportation and health places planner with the Boise, Idaho-based urban design firm Vitruvian Planning. The event is Saturday, November 18 from 10am to noon at the APK Building Lecture Hall, 395 Whittier Street, Juneau. To RSVP click here:

Livable communities make for happier, healthier residents of every age, in all life stages. AARP's efforts in Age Friendly Livable Communities focus on helping communities develop features such as:

  • Safe, walkable streets
  • Housing and transporation options
  • Access to key services
  • Opportunities for all residents to engage fully with their communities

As a concerned resident or community leader, join us for a conversation on the AARP Livable Communities principles and a discussion on opportunities for improvement so residents in Juneau make their city or neighborhood a lifelong home.
